After much thought and prayer, we’ve decided to cancel our Nigerian traditional wedding celebration. We’re grateful for your love and support and look forward to celebrating with everyone at our Jamaica wedding in 2027. ❤️
When is the wedding?
Our wedding celebration will take place August 29, 2026. We are so excited to celebrate this special day with all of our family and friends!
Where will the wedding take place?
Downtown, Atlanta, GA
Once you RSVP you will receive the location of the event.
What time should I arrive?
Guests should plan to arrive 30–45 minutes before the ceremony begins to allow time for seating and to ensure the ceremony starts on time.
The reception will follow immediately after the ceremony.
What is the dress code?
Our wedding attire is formal / cultural elegance.
Guests are welcome to wear:
Formal evening wear
Traditional cultural attire
Nigerian attire such as Aso-ebi, lace, Ankara, or formal kaftans
We encourage guests to embrace color and elegance as Nigerian celebrations are known for their vibrant style.
What is Asoebi?
Asoebi is a traditional Nigerian wedding custom where family and friends wear coordinated fabrics to celebrate the couple.
Guests who would like to participate in the Asoebi tradition will receive details about fabric options and tailoring closer to the wedding date.
Participation is optional but highly encouraged for those who want to join in the tradition.
Can I bring a guest?
Due to venue capacity, we are only allowing a plus one, unless previously discussed.
Are children invited?
While we love all of the little ones in our lives, this will be an adult-focused celebration unless previously discussed.
We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy a special night out with us!
Will food and drinks be served?
Absolutely! Guests will enjoy a full dinner service and bar during the reception. Our menu will include a blend of delicious cultural and celebratory dishes so everyone can enjoy a memorable dining experience.
Do I need to RSVP?
Yes! Please RSVP through the wedding website once invitations are sent.
This helps us finalize seating, catering, and accommodations.
What is the tradition of spraying money?
During Nigerian weddings, guests may celebrate the couple by spraying money while they dance. It is a joyful tradition symbolizing happiness, prosperity, and blessings for the newlyweds.
Guests who wish to participate are welcome to bring single dollar bills to spray during the celebration.
Are gifts expected?
Your presence is truly the greatest gift to us. For those who wish to celebrate us further, we welcome you to participate in the joyful tradition of spraying money during the celebration. Change for single dollar bills will be available for guests who would like to join in.
